The receipts

Two and a half years of pump.fun, in order. Every entry links to where it was reported. Court claims are allegations until a judge rules on them.

  1. A former employee still had the keys

An ex-staffer used withdraw authority he should no longer have had, plus flash loans, to pull about 12.3K SOL (~$1.9M) out of the bonding curves. Trading was halted; pump.fun said affected users would be made whole.

  2. Livestreams became a race to the bottom

Devs streamed escalating shock content, including suicide threats and abuse, to pump their coins. Pump.fun shut the feature off on Nov 25, then brought it back in 2025.

  3. Locked out of the UK

Pump.fun closed itself to UK users after action from the Financial Conduct Authority.

  4. Sued for selling unregistered securities

A New York class action claims tokens launched on pump.fun were securities sold without registration, and that hype tactics drove nearly $500M in fees. A separate suit targeted the PNUT collapse.

  5. A $500M raise in 12 minutes

The $PUMP ICO sold out in about 12 minutes. Within weeks two big early buyers had sent over $160M of tokens to exchanges, and the token later sat roughly 50% below its debut.

  6. Called a “slot machine cabinet” in court

An amended complaint adds RICO claims, alleging an illegal gambling and money-transmission enterprise with Solana and Jito. It cites $722.85M in pump.fun revenue, estimates $4–5.5B in user losses, and claims the Lazarus Group used a pump.fun coin to launder Bybit hack funds. None of it has been tested at trial.

  7. $465.5M cashed out to USDC

Pump.fun moved $465.5M into USDC while its own token was down more than 25%.

The Kimchi incident

Oct 20–23, 2026. Pump.fun’s co-founder pointed his audience at a coin from the platform’s brand-new creative partner. About thirty minutes later both posts were gone, and so was nearly all of the price.

  1. Oct 20

    Pump.fun signs Kimchi

The pseudonymous trader who says he made about $40M on TRUMP becomes pump.fun’s creative partner. Alon calls him the first trader ever to become a celebrity.

  2. Oct 22

A poster with a QR code

Kimchi’s account (@kimchi1x) posts an AI-generated “Project Kimchi” street poster. The QR code opens a token freshly created on pump.fun. Per Lookonchain, Kimchi had been sent 500M KIMCHI, roughly half the supply.

  3. Seconds later

    Alon reposts

Pump.fun’s co-founder (@a1lon9) amplifies it to his followers. KIMCHI blows past $10M market cap almost instantly.

  4. ~30 min

    Both posts vanish

Kimchi deletes the post, Alon undoes his repost, and the QR code stops resolving to the token.

  5. Then

    95–98% gone

KIMCHI collapses to around $190K market cap. Lookonchain flags roughly $385K in suspected sniper profits.

  6. Oct 23

    Scrubbed

Kimchi removes pump.fun from his bio and deletes his earlier pump.fun posts and vlog. Pump.fun’s daily revenue slips about 16% and active addresses about 11%.

  7. Now

    Silence

No refund for buyers. No public statement from Alon, Kimchi or pump.fun explaining what happened.
